Help with memorizable tables

Think about the flashcards you've used to study for tests. Memorizable tables work in a very similar way. You look at something, then guess the "answer" in your head. If your guess was correct, you're done with that card. If your guess was incorrect, you put the card aside to use again until you're sure you've memorized it.

Steps

Try out these steps on this table.
1. Click the (memorize) link in the column you wish to memorize.
Country (memorize) Capital (memorize)
United States Washington, DC
China Beijing
Japan Tokyo
India New Delhi
Germany Berlin
2. In your head, guess what belongs in place of what goes here?.
3. Click the show answer button.
4. If your guess was correct, click I was right. Otherwise, click I was wrong.
...then keep guessing and clicking the buttons until the table fills up.

Tips

♦ Repetition - missed rows will be repeated multiple times, to assure memorization.
♦ This is why I was right sometimes turns into show later.
♦ Progress - the progress bar (on the bottom-right of the table) and the size of the table indicate how many are left.
♦ Other Column - once finished, you may want to click the (memorize) link on the other column, to memorize in reverse as well.

Keyboard shortcuts

♦ You can press the 1 key as a shortcut for show answer or I was wrong.
♦ You can press the 2 key as a shortcut for I was right.

Matching mode

The default mode is flashcard mode. You can also memorize in matching mode. Matching mode is an easy first step you might wish to do before flashcard mode. Try out these steps on this table.

1. Click a (memorize) link.
2. Then click the matching mode link.
Country (memorize) Capital (memorize)
United States Washington, DC
China Beijing
Japan Tokyo
India New Delhi
Germany Berlin
3. The table will be shuffled. Click pairs of items to identify matches.

...then keep clicking until you've found all the matches.

Tips

♦ Matches - each matching pair of items will turn white when you've found them.
